Disruptors are the standard energy weapons of the Klingon Empire starships (as well as other foes of the Federation, eg. Romulans) and they are the starter weapons for new Klingon Empire characters. They come in several types, as most energy weapons do in STO. Disruptors deliver a consistent beam attack designed to burn down enemy shields more efficiently than kinectic weapons (mines and torpedos). All disruptors have a 2.5% chance of reducing resistence to damage by 10 for 15 seconds. Without buffs, disruptor damage to shields is about 1/10th of its rated damage to hulls. All damage points shown in the tables are rated against unprotected hulls. In general, all of the data for Ship Disruptor Weapons is identical to Phaser Ship Weapons except for the specific damage add described below.


Disruptor Beam ArrayEdit

These are normally mounted, single beam weapons that are the standard of the Klingon Empire, Romulans and other adversaries of the Federation. They deliver a precise attack shown as a green beam. Following some general notes about these weapons.

  • They may be mounted in the front or back weapons slots on any ship class, Federation or Klingon.
  • They have an attack arc of 250 degrees, which allows for a broad overlap of front and rear mounted weapons.
  • They use -10 weapon energy.
  • They have a 2.5% chance of debuffing resistences by 10 for 15 seconds.
  • Below is a grid of the specific characteristics without buffs and enhancements. Note that the damage output is identical to the Phaser Beam Array.

Dual Disruptor Beam ArrayEdit

These are normally mounted, dual beam weapons that are the standard of the Klingon and Romulan Empires and their allies. They deliver a precise attack shown as twin green beams delivering more damage than single arrays at the cost of a narrower firing arc. Following some general notes about these weapons.

  • They may be mounted in the front slots of any ship class, Federation or Klingon.
  • They have an attack arc of 90 degrees, which provides no overlap of front and rear mounted weapons and means that the target needs to be in front of the weapon.
  • They use -10 weapon energy.
  • They have a 2.5% chance of debuffing the target's resistences by 10 for 15 seconds.

Disruptor CannonEdit

These are normally mounted, single pulse weapons that are the standard of the Klingon Empire. They deliver a powerful precise attack shown as three green pulses delivering more damage than single arrays in Damage Per Second at the cost of a narrower firing arc. Following some general notes about these weapons.

  • They may be mounted on any ship class in front slots, Federation or Klingon.
  • They have an attack arc of 180 degrees, which provides no overlap of front and rear mounted weapons. This means that the target needs to be in front of the weapon in order to be targeted.
  • They use -10 weapon energy.
  • They have a 2.5% chance of reducing a target's resistences by 10 for 15 secs.

Dual Disruptor CannonEdit

These are normally mounted, dual pulse weapons that are the standard of the Klingon and Romulan Empires and their allies. They are the second most powerful disruptor weapons offered and appear as three green disruptor bolts. Following some general notes about these weapons.

  • They may only be mounted in the front slots of Federation or Klingon Escort class ships.
  • They have a very narrow attack arc of 45 degrees, meaning that the target must be located directly in front of them.
  • They use -10 weapon energy.
  • They have a 2.5% chance of reducing a target's resistences by 10 for 15 secs.

Dual Heavy Disruptor CannonEdit

These are normally mounted, dual pulse weapons that are the standard of the Klingon and Romulan Empires and their allies. They are the most powerful disruptor weapons offered and appear as three large green disruptor bolts. Following some general notes about these weapons.

  • They may only be mounted in the front slots of Federation or Klingon Escort class ships.
  • They have a very narrow attack arc of 45 degrees, meaning that the target must be located directly in front of them.
  • They use -12 weapon energy.
  • They have a 2.5% chance of reducing damage resistences by 10 for 15 secs.
  • Additional buff for +10 critical severity.

These are normally mounted, single beam weapons that are the standard of the Federation. They deliver a precise attack in any direction shown as a dotted orange beam. Following some general notes about these weapons.

  • They may be mounted in the front or rear weapons slots on any ship class, Federation or Klingon.
  • They have an attack arc of 360 degrees, which allows for a complete overlap of front and rear mounted weapons, at the cost of damage output.
  • They use -10 weapon energy.
  • They have a 2.5% chance of reducing a target's resistences by 10 for 15 secs
